Sycuan Breaks Ground on New Health Center

October, 2024

Led by Chairman Cody Martinez and Sycuan’s Tribal Council, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation broke ground today at the site of Sycuan’s new Health Center.

Joined by Tribal members, staff, elected officials, friends and family, the event marked the beginning of a new era in Sycuan’s health care efforts.

Sycuan’s new Health Center will be a state-of-the-art, two-story, 25,000 square foot campus providing advanced medical and dental services to not only Sycuan Tribal members and employees, but to the entire region.  Sycuan’s current Medical & Dental facility has resided on the Sycuan Reservation since its inception in 1978.

“We’re extremely proud to build on the legacy of our Tribal elders and those who had the vision to establish our first Medical Center when we had no resources to get it done.  They found a way to get it done because they knew it was something our people desperately needed and their determination is what inspires us today,” said Sycuan Chairman, Cody Martinez.

The project is slated to finish in late 2025. More updates to come!
